MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Dietetics
1. Provide evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT) to patients with a variety of health conditions including complex medical conditions or specialized disciplines, requiring specialised nutrition intervention to augment medical treatment
2. Apply nutrition care process to correctly assess, diagnose, plan, implement, monitor, evaluate and document nutrition care
3. Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient-centred care
4. Communicate nutrition care plan to patients, family members or caregivers during hospitalisation and upon discharge
5. Manage workload effectively and efficiently with safe patient care
Education, Research & Training
1. Participate in continuing professional development activities
2. Assist or initiate nutrition related research and quality improvement initiatives in the department
3. Co-develop or develop nutrition guidelines
4. Develop health promotion and nutrition education materials
5. Deliver nutrition talks or workshops to patients, caregivers or community as part of clinical nutrition education or health promotion
6. Organize community outreach events
7. Develop training syllabus and deliver training to multidisciplinary team members
8. Train or supervise dietetic interns, polytechnic students and dietetic assistants
Food Service
1. Deliver therapeutic diet education to Food Service personnel
2. Liaise and coordinate with Food Service team on therapeutic diet requirements
3. Where relevant, provide consultation in providing requirements for meal or dish set up in the electronic meal ordering system; participate in Food Service audits; participate in menu and recipe development and analysis; and plan a training syllabus
Administration and Leadership
1. Assist with administrative and operational duties as required
2. Assist team lead in managing daily clinical work operation
3. Manage group tasks or duties
4. Mentor new-entry dietitians and dietetic assistants
5. Organize, plan and manage relevant projects (for instance, community outreach programme, quality improvement project or events)
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education / Training / Experience
i. Degree or Master in Dietetics from a recognized university
ii. Eligible for membership with Singapore Nutrition & Dietetics Association or other professional associations
iii. Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience
Attributes
i. Proficiency in written / spoken English and fluent in Mandarin, Malay Tamil or dialects
ii. Good interpersonal and communication skills
iii. Willing to collaborate and work well with team members
iv. Willing to learn and keep up-to-date of skills and evidence-based medical and nutrition information
