Sr/Data Analyst (IMI Service)
JOB SUMMARY
You will be a member of the Department of Infectious Diseases, where you will provide support in the areas of data collection, management and analysis. Your main responsibility will be in supporting the ICU Multidisciplinary Infectious Diseases (IMI) service, Haematology-Infectious Diseases clinical service and other related services, where you will be responsible for collecting, organizing and analyzing relevant data.
It will involve the administration of current data management systems, as well as planning and developing new databases, as and when required. You should have the skills and ability to manage electronic information in multiple formats, and to process and analyze this data for reporting and presentation. Your work requires proficiency with databases, analytical and reporting tools, an ability to learn quantitative tools/software and methodologies, and use of presentation software and good communication skills. You will have the opportunity to be a part of multidisciplinary teams for a different range of projects including research, quality improvement and education. In addition, prior experience in healthcare settings is preferable.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage existing databases, including extracting, cleaning, processing and analyzing data for routine and ad-hoc reports, and trouble-shooting of existing data systems
- Develop new and ad-hoc databases for clinical audits, surveillance programmes and research projects
- Develop a methodology and system for managing and extracting complex data from various databases or sources, which will require proficiency in logical data models and developing data dictionaries
- Produce documentation of new or existing systems and data-management support documents like standards, best practices, policies and procedures etc
- Conduct presentations describing data structures, data analysis methods, and results of data analysis
- Preparation of quarterly to annual reports related to IMI service or other related services
- Support other related research activities as directed by Head of IMI service
- Be a member of multidisciplinary teams which may involve ICU physicians or other specialty physicians, ID physicians, microbiologists, pharmacists
- Perform general administrative duties as required
- Participate actively as a team member in quality improvement projects at hospital-wide and departmental levels
- Work beyond routine work responsibilities, in the exigencies of services e.g. during infectious disease outbreaks
- Carry out any other duties or responsibilities assigned by the Supervisor and/or the Head of Department
