JOB SUMMARY
The Programme for Research in Epidemic Preparedness and REsponse (PREPARE) is a national programme set up by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to support and strengthen Singapore’s key research capabilities, translational platforms, and expertise which can be harnessed to detect, respond to, and contain future infectious disease threats. The National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) serves as the administrative host of PREPARE. There are five co-operative programmes established under PREPARE. These co-operatives are supported by a national biorepository for clinical samples, tissues and associated data, and infectious diseases (ID) clinical and research databases.


The Regional Networks Co-operative Programme aims to:

  1. Create a strong regional infectious diseases network in Southeast Asia that enable timely insights sharing and information exchange.
  2. Talent programme that supports the training and exchange of researchers and students between Singapore and the region
  3.  Regional clinical research network that can rapidly conduct multicentre studies, generate high quality clinical insights and inform clinical management in the event of a regional outbreak or global pandemic.

 

The Research Fellow is a key team member of the Regional Networks Co-operative who will be providing project management, coordination, and administrative support in the planning, implementation and monitoring of the Regional Networks Co-operative Programme.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
The Research Fellow of PREPARE’s Regional Networks Co-operative Programme will:

  1. Support in the planning and implementation of the Regional Co-Operative’s workplan.
  2. Lead the management of research projects and trials in the region (ASEAN), which may include, but are not limited to:
  • Liaising closely with local and overseas institutions/hospitals to set up clinical trials and projects.
  • Coordinate and manage clinical trials and projects.
  • Facilitate completion and documentation of required study documents from initiation to study closure.
  • Facilitate timely review of research related agreements.
  • Conduct research monitoring activities such as data verification and document verification, as per proper research conduct. There may be opportunities to travel regionally to conduct site visits as required.
  • Track recruitment/study progress and prepare reports and updates to PREPARE
  • Work as a team with PREPARE Programme Office (PO) to ensure alignment of activities with all associated workstreams;
  • Support in the planning and organisation of trainings and workshops undertaken by PREPARE Regional Networks Co-operative.

 

GENERAL
To perform other duties as directed by supervisor(s) including work areas not mentioned here but within the scope of the Regional Networks Co-operative.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION

  • Minimum master’s degree in public health, microbiology, epidemiology, biostatistics, biological, biomedical or chemical sciences, or a related discipline.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Knowledge and understanding of proper research conduct required.
  • At least 1 year of demonstrated experience managing and executing projects independently.
  • Prior experience working / collaborating with partners in region (ASEAN) is a plus.
  • Relevant experience in a research, healthcare or public health-related environment in the local setting is a plus.
  • Experience in handling research budgets is a plus.
  • Independent, organized, detail-oriented, responsible and self-driven
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced and fluid working environment, with an ability to engage effectively with all levels of seniority.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, pleasant personality with positive working and learning attitude.
