TTSH CRIO is seeking a Statistician to join our dynamic clinical research team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in advancing healthcare by providing statistical expertise and analysis for our cutting-edge clinical research projects.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

  • To provide statistical and analytical support to clinicians and researchers in TTSH.
  • To teach educational courses or research seminars in statistics to researchers, clinicians, and staff of TTSH.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

SPECIFIC

  1. Operational
  1. Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams (i.e. researchers, clinicians, and other stakeholders, etc.) to design and develop statistical methodologies for clinical research studies / projects and clinical trials, including but not limited to conduct sample size calculation, data cleaning, data coding, randomization schemes, and statistical analyses to support research protocols and study designs.
  2. Provide guidance on study design and statistical methodology during the planning, implementation, and analysis phases of clinical trials and other research studies.
  3. Develop statistical analysis plans, including selection of appropriate statistical tests and models.
  4. Perform statistical analysis of clinical research data in an ethical and timely manner, interpret the results, and prepare clear and concise reports, tables, and graphs to effectively communicate findings to researchers and project teams.
  5. Conduct quality control checks on collected data, identifying, and resolving any data inconsistencies or anomalies.
  6. Write the statistics section(s) of documents including but not limited to research proposals, grant for submission to grant agencies, scientific manuscripts for publication and assist in replying to reviewers’ comments.
  7. Churn out randomisation codes for investigator-initiated clinical trials in a neutral manner.
  8. Contribute to journal publications and conference abstracts and posters.
  9. Keep up to date with and use relevant statistical and scientific knowledge.
  10. Establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships – developing constructive and cooperative working relationships with researchers, clinicians, and staff of TTSH.
  11. Assist in mentoring junior Medical Statistician and new staff and help promote a working environment of collegiality and effective teamwork.

 

 

 

  1. Research Training
  1. Promote the knowledge and practice of statistics in TTSH through Statistical consultation clinics, talks and seminars.
  2. Conduct statistical workshop for non-statisticians and / or on areas of expertise or related disciplines in the research trainings or other seminars as scheduled by CRIO.

 

GENERAL

  1. Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Head of Department.
  2. Constantly evaluate and make continuous improvements to work processes.
  3. Actively participate as a member for quality improvement projects at the Hospital-wide / Departmental level.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION

Master in Statistics or Mathematics

PREREQUISITES

  1. Proficient in statistical software especially SPSS and STATA. Knowledge in other statistical software is an advantage.
  2. Strong statistical modelling skills, with the ability to interpret analysis results independently, and good communication skills (both written and verbal) to explain the findings to non-statisticians.
  3. Strong interest in research.
  4. Able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  5. Attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced research environment.

 

EXPERIENCE

  1. Relevant experience preferred but not compulsory.
  2. Fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
