Our Grants & Innovation Office (GIO) plays a pivotal role in empowering healthcare transformation by funding, coordinating, and scaling high-impact innovations across institutions. We drive strategic alignment between innovation efforts and national healthcare priorities, ensuring value, sustainability, and improved health outcomes for the population we serve.

 

The Opportunities

 

We are looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Manager / Manager to be a catalyst for transformation at the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI). In this pivotal role, you will lead CHI Start-Up Enterprise Link (CHISEL) – one of CHI’s flagship programmes that empowers global start-ups and SMEs to test-bed and showcase their innovative, market-ready solutions. CHISEL acts as a dynamic sandbox and marketplace, bridging cutting-edge innovation with real-world healthcare application and paving the way for potential adoption by Singapore healthcare institutions.

 

You will also oversee the prestigious National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity (HIP) Medal Award, an MOH-funded initiative that celebrates outstanding innovation and productivity efforts across Singapore’s healthcare and community care sectors. This national platform shines a spotlight on excellence, driving sector-wide inspiration and impact.

 

The key job responsibilities include:

  1. Lead and Manage Innovation Programmes:
    Strategize, design, and execute the CHI Start-Up Enterprise Link (CHISEL) and National Healthcare Innovation and Productivity (National HIP) Awards from end to end – including securing funding, planning, preparation, implementation, and evaluation.
  2. Funding Management:
    Coordinate and manage funding support for CHISEL and National HIP programmes, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks and delivering high-level reporting to senior management and funders.
  3. Stakeholder Engagement:
    Forge strong relationships with internal teams, healthcare institutions, external partners, and innovation councils to align strategies and co-drive the success of CHI programmes.
  4. Sponsorship and Resource Mobilisation:
    Identify and secure sponsorship and alternative funding sources to sustain and grow CHI innovation initiatives.

 

 

Requirements

 

1.       Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Science, Public Health, Business or equivalent
  1. Preferably at least 5 years of relevant project/programme management experience, of which at least 2 years involve supervisory experience
  2. Relevant experience in healthcare research/innovation administration
  3. Passionate about healthcare innovation and/or healthcare technology
  4. Experience in designing, planning and executing programmes and projects with successful delivery of outcomes
  5. Familiarity with the innovation funding landscape (public, private, start-ups inclusive) in Singapore
  6. Possessing a network of healthcare innovators/offices in Singapore will be advantageous
  7. Strong written, analytical, and communication skills
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with diverse stakeholders, industry practitioners and academia.
  9. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
