Engineer (Facilities Engineering)
About the Role
We are seeking a committed Facilities Engineer to join our Facilities Engineering team. You will oversee the planning, execution and quality assurance of engineering and building services, while guiding a team of technical staff to maintain high maintenance and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Operational
- Plan, implement and review maintenance programs for M&E systems and non‑clinical equipment, including sterilization equipment.
- Investigate technical issues, conduct root cause analysis and propose corrective actions.
- Perform reliability assessments, troubleshoot faults and prepare incident/failure investigation reports.
- Manage claims, licensing requirements and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Lead improvement projects with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
- Provide technical support for inspections, testing and commissioning of systems and installations.
- Oversee preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance activities, including budgeting and resource planning.
- Ensure accurate documentation, evaluation and execution of maintenance programs and engineering projects.
- Monitor departmental operations, identify improvement areas and drive cost‑effective solutions.
- Supervise contractors and provide guidance to assigned technical staff.
Quality & Safety
- Ensure adherence to ISO, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and hospital management systems.
- Investigate safety incidents and prepare required reports.
People & Process
- Participate in departmentwide improvement initiatives and staff training.
- Review and enhance SOPs and work processes to promote safety, efficiency and collaboration.
- Support a positive working environment and perform duties assigned by the Reporting Officer or Head of Department.
Job Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong understanding of M&E systems; experience in healthcare facilities is an advantage.
- Good communication skills for coordination with technicians, contractors and clinical staff.
- Independent, proactive, adaptable and able to work under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
