Sr Engineer
JOB SUMMARY
- Responsible for managing projects, preventive maintenance, breakdown maintenance and daily operations activities biomedical engineering team.
- Performs duties for a broad scope and complexity of biomedical system relating to preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance.
- Ensuring patient safety and safe usage of biomedical system through proper maintenance, testing and calibration.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
Perform and complete the scheduled preventive maintenance jobs for biomedical system by following manufacturer's instructions and checklist.
Troubleshoot and repair breakdown jobs for biomedical system by following manufacturer's instructions and checklist.
Liaise with user department and vendors to ensure preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance jobs for biomedical system equipment under service contract are completed within the required timeframe.
Liaising with biomedical equipment vendors on commissioning jobs and ensuring newly purchased biomedical equipment are functioning according and within manufacturer's specifications.
Troubleshooting and assisting user department on IT integration related issues for biomedical equipment.
Placing and expediting parts orders for breakdowns jobs.
Ensuring scheduled preventive maintenance and breakdowns jobs for team are completed within the required timeframe.
Liaising with user department, biomedical equipment vendors ensuring impact to user’s operations are minimized.
Assisting user department on their biomedical equipment inventory.
Preparing reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends on biomedical equipment for user department.
Participating and providing technical inputs from BME department’s perspective in projects, meetings, discussions with various user departments.
Liaising with users and purchasing department on the requirements and drafting of technical specifications for procurement of new biomedical equipment.
Participating and providing technical inputs from BME department’s perspective in evaluation and procurement of biomedical equipment.
Providing support and technical decision guidance to technical officers on communications skill, issues resolutions and customer services.
Attending technical training on biomedical equipment arranged by the department.
Knowledge in IT, Cybersecurity and EMR Integration related matters for biomedical equipment.
GENERAL
Be a team player to accomplish a win-win situation between BME department and user department.
Help promote a working environment of collegiality and effective teamwork.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Performs liaison functions between various department as to facilitate information flow and services support to the user department.

Any other duties / projects as assigned by the Supervisor / Head of Department.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
Engineering Degree + 5 years working experience or Biomedical Engineering Diploma + 8 years
working experience or Engineering NITEC (National Institute of Technical Education Certificate) +
14 years working experience.
EXPERIENCE
Must be motivated and independent person to work on maintenance matters and projects.
Must be capable to understand the concept on clinical engineering principles.
Must possess a technical knowledge to handle complex technical problems.
Preference would be given for experience in a Hospital or Healthcare industry.
Knowledge in IT integration for biomedical system.
Knowledge in drafting technical specification for biomedical system (Preferred).
Knowledge in evaluation of biomedical system (Preferred).
