Sr Consultant

The role of Senior Consultant, as a senior doctor is to apply knowledge and skills to diagnosis, prevent and manage conditions of the eye. A Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist should be competent in all general ophthalmic conditions and be an expert in a relevant sub-specialised field of ophthalmology.

Senior Consultant will be tasked with the responsibility and leading clinical services within the Department.

In addition, he/she is expected to be engaged in teaching, mentoring of junior specialists/ junior doctors and scholarly activities (research and learning).

Senior Consultants may be involved in leading/participating in non-clinical administrative duties in the hospital.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Possess a basic medical degree and/or postgraduate medical degree registrable with the Singapore Medical Council
2. Complete specialist training program and be registered as a specialist in the country of training
3. Senior Consultant requires a minimum of 5 years as a Consultant and need to have demonstrated competence and good performance in all prior consultant roles
4. Doctors with Conditional medical registration with SMC are to practice within the conditions of their registration
