Sr Consultant
The role of Senior Consultant, as a senior doctor is to apply knowledge and skills to diagnosis, prevent and manage conditions of the eye. A Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist should be competent in all general ophthalmic conditions and be an expert in a relevant sub-specialised field of ophthalmology.
Senior Consultant will be tasked with the responsibility and leading clinical services within the Department.
In addition, he/she is expected to be engaged in teaching, mentoring of junior specialists/ junior doctors and scholarly activities (research and learning).
Senior Consultants may be involved in leading/participating in non-clinical administrative duties in the hospital.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Possess a basic medical degree and/or postgraduate medical degree registrable with the Singapore Medical Council
- Complete specialist training program and be registered as a specialist in the country of training
- Senior Consultant requires a minimum of 5 years as a Consultant and need to have demonstrated competence and good performance in all prior consultant roles
- Doctors with Conditional medical registration with SMC are to practice within the conditions of their registration
