Sr Asst Manager, HEAL
About HEAL & the Digital Innovation Office
HEAL (Health Empowered by AI Launchpad) is NHG’s flagship programme to drive the safe, impactful, and system-wide adoption of Artificial Intelligence in healthcare. Hosted under the Digital Innovation Office (DIO) within the Centre for Healthcare Innovation (CHI), HEAL supports AI initiatives that enhance care delivery, optimise operations, and empower our workforce.
The DIO acts as the enabler and integrator, connecting strategy, delivery, and governance to accelerate innovation across NHG. We operate with startup energy and public service purpose.
The Role
The Senior Executive / Senior Assistant Manager (SAM), HEAL Programme Operations, plays a critical role in ensuring the effective day-to-day running of the Health Empowered by AI Launchpad (HEAL), NHG’s flagship programme for system-wide AI adoption in healthcare.
This role sits at the intersection of operations, governance, planning, and project coordination. The incumbent is expected to operate with a high degree of independence, owning assigned workstreams end-to-end while supporting HEAL’s broader operational planning and selected project initiatives.
The scope and complexity of responsibilities may be calibrated based on experience. However, self-direction, accountability, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are essential regardless of appointment level.
Key Responsibilities
1. Programme Operations & Governance Support
- Independently manage secretariat support for HEAL governance forums (e.g. JAG Committee, user tracks, working groups), including agendas, meeting materials, minutes, and action tracking
- Maintain decision logs and follow-up trackers to ensure continuity, accountability, and closure of actions
- Support governance processes related to AI project review, prioritisation, and monitoring
2. Operational Planning & Tracking
- Support annual and quarterly operational planning for HEAL activities, including workplans, milestones, and resource tracking
- Independently maintain consolidated trackers and dashboards covering HEAL projects, adoption metrics, and key deliverables
- Monitor progress against plans, proactively flag risks or dependencies, and follow through on required actions
3. Project & Initiative Support (from time to time)
- Support or co-manage discrete projects aligned to HEAL priorities (e.g. pilots, evaluations, reviews, capability-building initiatives), depending on experience and readiness
- Coordinate across NHG institutions, enabling functions, and partners to ensure timelines and deliverables are met
- Contribute to post-project reviews, documentation of lessons learnt, and process improvements
4. Stakeholder Coordination & Enablement
- Act as an operational point-of-contact for HEAL, coordinating with NHG institutions, HEAL track members, enabling teams (Finance, HR, IT), and external partners
- Proactively engage stakeholders to follow up on actions, resolve issues, and maintain alignment
- Support engagement activities such as HEAL Fridays, workshops, onboarding sessions, and internal communications
5. Reporting, Insights & Continuous Improvement
- Prepare clear, decision-ready operational updates and reports for HEAL leadership and governance committees
- Support basic analysis of operational and adoption data to inform planning, prioritisation, and decision-making
- Contribute to refining HEAL operational processes, playbooks, and ways of working based on experience and feedback
6. General Operations & Administrative Support
- Support departmental operations including finance coordination, procurement tracking, HR-related processes, and vendor coordination
- Ensure accurate documentation, record-keeping, and audit-ready materials
- Take on additional duties as required to support HEAL’s evolving operational needs
Independence & Ownership Expectations
This role requires the ability to operate with limited day-to-day supervision. The successful candidate must be comfortable:
- Structuring and managing their own work
- Driving tasks and workstreams to completion
- Engaging stakeholders proactively
- Exercising sound judgement on when to escalate issues versus resolving them independently
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Policy, Health Administration, Information Systems, or a related field
- Fresh graduates may be considered if they demonstrate strong independence, maturity, and ownership through internships, projects, or prior work experience
- Candidates with 4–6 years of relevant experience may be considered for appointment at Senior Assistant Manager level
- Proven ability to manage tasks, deadlines, and multiple stakeholders independently
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Comfortable working with plans, trackers, dashboards, and ambiguity in a fast-moving environment
- Experience in healthcare, public sector, or innovation programmes is advantageous but not required
