Senior Manager / Assistant Director (School Health)

 

Purpose of the Role

 

We are looking for an innovative and self-driven Assistant Director / Senior Manager with expertise in Curriculum Design and Development to drive and implement plans to encourage adoption of healthier behaviours among school-going students and families.

You will assist and complement the Director in working closely with internal and external stakeholders to develop and review the department’s strategies and work plans, with a view to educate, engage and empower teachers, students, and their families to adopt healthier behaviours.

You will also lead, analyse, design, develop, curate, and implement age-appropriate, evidence-informed preventive health interventions and resources for use in school and community settings, working closely with stakeholders from healthcare, education, and the community sectors.

This role plays a critical part in shaping preventive health interventions targeting youths and adults


 

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 

Curriculum Design & Development

 

  • Lead the conceptualization, design, and iteration of preventive health and well-being curriculum modules targeting students, teachers, and parents.
  • Apply evidence-based practices and pedagogical principles to ensure content is developmentally appropriate, engaging, and culturally sensitive.
  • Oversee the development of toolkits, facilitator guides, digital content, and hands-on resources tailored for use in school-based settings.

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration

 

  • Work closely with government agencies, school leaders, school counsellors, teachers, social service agencies and student well-being teams on collaborations and/or to co-create contextualized learning experiences.
  • Collaborate with clinical psychologists, counsellors, dietitians, creative designers, clinicians, etc. to ensure psychological safety and clinical accuracy in materials and during programme delivery.
  • Facilitate consultation sessions, user-testing, and training-of-trainers (TOT) workshops for programme implementors.

 

Programme Implementation & Support

 

  • Oversee the implementation of pilot runs, scale-up phases, and onboarding of new schools into programmes.
  • Provide guidance and support to programme implementors to maintain fidelity of interventions.
  • Refine and adapt materials based on feedback and evolving needs.
  • Develop management reports and presentation materials.
  • Develop budget, support funding submissions and cost management.

 

Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

 

  • Develop and implement assessment frameworks to evaluate learning outcomes and program impacts.
  • Use data to inform improvements and ensure alignment with national curriculum and health strategies.
  • Stay updated on best practices, emerging trends, and local health challenges.

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Curriculum Studies, Instructional Design, or related fields (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, of which 5 years in curriculum development, education program design, or instructional leadership. (Experience in MOE School setting would be advantageous)
  • Demonstrated experience creating curriculum for youth in formal or informal education settings.
  • Knowledge on child and adolescent development and/or health promotion frameworks will be advantageous.
  • Experience in programme implementation in school, workplace and community settings will be advantageous.
  • Having Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance would be advantageous.
  • Experience in facilitating and conducting workshops is essential.
