Senior/Research Asst (IGA)
The Senior/Research Assistant will assist the Principal Investigator and study team in clinical research projects undertaken by the Institute of Geriatrics and Active Ageing (IGA). He/she will be responsible for research related activities including but not limited to stakeholder engagement, participant recruitment and follow-up, data collection and management, and research administrative duties.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
- Assist the Principal Investigator and study team in preparation of study and administrative protocols, submission of ethics review/replies to query, monitoring and compliance to human biomedical research
- Coordinate study-related meetings and training sessions
- Engage with and manage stakeholders e.g. clinic or community partners for research outreach
- Recruit and screen study participants, administer informed consent, perform clinical assessments and follow-up visits, while prioritising participant safety and welfare
- Maintain investigator file, study master list, logs and related documents in a prompt manner
- Ensure compliance of study progression in accordance to schedule and protocols
- Manage data and perform data cleaning
- Assist with data analysis, where applicable
- Be familiar with other projects within the institute for cross coverage
GENERAL
- Participate in regular research meetings and contribute to the team’s learning
- Support ad-hoc projects and events undertaken by Institute
- Perform other duties as directed by supervisor, including work areas not mentioned here
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, sciences or allied health disciplines
- Experience in research is preferred
- Good communication and writing skills
- Able to converse in English, Mandarin and local dialects
- Able to work as a team
- Knowledge of MS office applications
- Knowledge of statistical software is preferred
