Senior/Executive, Quality Improvement and Research
The Senior/Executive of the Population Health Office’s Office of Clinical Governance (POP OCG) will support the development and operationalization of PHC’s Quality and Research support needs. This includes relevant areas within the NHG Quality and Safety Plan (e.g. quality improvement initiatives, quality improvement capability and culture building, and compliance and standards) and supporting PHC researchers with relevant resources.
This role requires attention to detail, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, communication skills and teamwork to promote Quality and Safety, which would improve quality of care within PHC. These efforts will contribute to building an effective clinical governance that would empower the development of Population Health.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Quality Improvement (QI) Initiatives: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of quality improvement projects, work closely with teams to implement best practices and process improvements and assisting with the submission of PHC QI Projects to quality events and/or competitions.
- Drive PHC’s QI Capability and Culture Building initiatives. This includes and is not limited to: Planning and conducting basic QI training sessions and promoting awareness of quality standards and improvement initiatives among staff.
- Perform data collection and analysis for the purposes of generating and reviewing performance metrics and quality indicators. This includes preparation of reports and summaries to highlight trends, areas for improvement, and successes.
- Support PHC’s adherence to established quality standards and regulatory requirements by assisting in preparing for audits, surveys, and external reviews.
- Provide research administration support in terms of facilitating access to resources and updating of internal platforms with relevant research-related information. To also assist researchers in navigating DSRB submissions, funding opportunities, and accessing internal research resources
- Provide secretariat support and administrative assistance for the PHC Clinical Board, PHC Quality Committee and other Population Health Campus-related meetings. Responsibilities include oversight of the general management of the meetings and connecting participants and stakeholders to working together towards the respective meeting goals.
Job Requirements
- Good bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
- At least 2 years of working experience in quality improvement, process improvement or quality assurance. Prior experience in healthcare operations, and/or clinical experience will be advantageous.
- Proficient in basic quality improvement tools and methodologies (e.g. The Model for Improvement, Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis).
- Experience with data analysis tools (e.g. Excel, basic statistical software) and comfortable with data collection and interpretation.
- Prior exposure to clinical research/ research coordinator work would be advantageous.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
- Resourceful and able to work in ambiguous situations with a can-do attitude.
- Independent, self-motivated with a results-driven mindset.
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills with an analytical mind.
