Senior Executive
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
The Office of Clinical Informatics (OCI) at NHG Population Health serves as a pivotal team responsible for overseeing critical IT infrastructure that underpins healthcare delivery across Community Care and Population Health missions. Operating under the leadership of the Chief Clinical Information Officer, the team manages essential electronic medical record systems, specifically the Next Generation Electronic Medical Record (NGEMR) and National Electronic Health Record (NEHR).
The OCI team plays a multifaceted role in ensuring seamless system operations through comprehensive build management, rigorous testing protocols, and responsive troubleshooting services. Beyond technical responsibilities, the team orchestrates crucial people-centric functions, including maintaining robust user access controls, coordinating staff training programmes, and implementing effective change management strategies. Through these integrated efforts, OCI enables healthcare professionals to leverage digital tools efficiently, ultimately supporting better population health outcomes and enhanced community care delivery.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Executive at the Office of Clinical Informatics serves as a crucial operational support specialist, focusing on the day-to-day management and maintenance of electronic medical record systems. This role encompasses essential technical responsibilities including handling production tickets, executing system testing protocols, and supporting basic system builds and configurations. The executive plays a vital role in maintaining system documentation, processing user access updates, and coordinating training sessions for new staff members. They provide comprehensive support for audit preparation activities and assist in gathering documentation for system requirements. A key aspect of their responsibility involves conducting routine data analysis tasks and implementing system changes to enhance operational efficiency. The position requires meticulous attention to detail in troubleshooting system issues and supporting change management communications during system updates. Working collaboratively within the team, the executive ensures smooth operational continuity while supporting senior team members in technical implementations, contributing to the overall reliability and performance of healthcare technology systems.
Key Responsibilities
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Track production tickets and change requests
- Support training and change management
- Review and maintain user access matrices
- Conduct audits, follow up on findings and collate responses
- Assist in business impact analysis and business continuity planning, including conduct of downtime drills
- Work with other departments eg. on matters related to cybersecurity, new technology/innovation projects
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend internal and external training organised by NHG PopHealth
- Provide secretariat support for designated meetings/committees
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time
Job Requirements
EDUCATION
- A recognised university qualification preferably related to Information technology, information systems or computer science
EXPERIENCE
- At least 1 year’s experience in supporting IT departments or project management preferred
OTHERS
- Strong written and communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and as a team player
- Possess an inquisitive mind, and the ability to handle complexity
