Senior Executive / Assistant Manager ( Data Science Office)

 

IMH is looking for intermediate data analysts/scientists who are passionate about healthcare analytics to expand the hospital’s data capabilities.

 

They will be expected to work with an existing team of data architects and biostatisticians to advance the quality of information derived from existing clinical databases. They will also work with clinicians and management to develop data life cycles geared toward performance monitoring. Some examples may be the creation and maintenance of clinical dashboards, and the management of large datasets. The candidate will also be expected to be well versed in traditional aspects of data science and machine learning. Development of machine learning models geared towards regression and classification tasks is an essential component of job scope.

 

A key element of the position will require the candidate to help the hospital expand its structured databases by harnessing unstructured fields.

 

Successful candidates are expected to complete work of a quality that would stand up to peer review.

 

Successful candidates must have experience with AWS datalake platforms, OAS data visualization systems, SQL and Python.

 

Candidates will be expected to adhere to a strict code of ethics.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Lead analytic projects designed to deliver insights into hospital-wide operational and clinical issues.
  • Develop and maintain data dashboards required by management
  • Provide routine operational dashboard reports and updates of analyses at the appropriate IMH forums
  • Participate in ongoing efforts to structure unstructured datasets by developing natural language processing algorithms.
  • Support the hospital in the deployment of New Generation Electronic Medical Record, in function of project management
  • Liaise with NHG data initiatives and represent IMH in workgroups, as appropriate for level of expertise
  • Maintain knowledge in the relevant fields of epidemiology and biostatistics to ensure new statistical/ analytic methods are continuously integrated into practice as advances emerge
  • Assist in the upskilling of staff to widen the data literacy of IMH staff

 

Requirements

 

  • Min BSc in Mathematics/Statistics/Data science/Engineering. MSc/PhD would be an advantage
  • Training in OAS, AWS, SQL and Python preferred
  • Background in epidemiology and biostatistics not absolutely necessary but previous experience in health service research preferred
