Senior / Executive (Medical Affairs), Clinical Services
Broad Function
The role of the Executive (Medical Affairs / Clinical Governance), Clinical Services, is to plan, execute and support the functions of the Clinical Services Office. He/She will work closely with the Chairman, Medical Board, Director Clinical Services, Reporting officer, Clinical Heads, other staff members of Clinical Services, internal and external stakeholders.
The Executive will also have the opportunity to participate in other roles within the Clinical Services office for growth and development (e.g. projects, clinical programme management, licensing, service development).
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Specific
- Administer and manage credentialing & privileging requirements for clinicians (doctors, nurses, pharmacists and allied health professionals). Ensure proper documentation of applications and issuance of privileges, maintain privileging databases and provide secretariat support to the Credentialing & Privileging Committee.
- Manage (and ensure accuracy) the Monthly and Daily Duty Rosters in Intranet and Teams, including system maintenance supporting the Roster.
- Manage the profiles of doctors working in WH to be published on WH Internet and ensure the content comply to SMC and WH requirements.
- Execute and manage Visiting Consultant (VC) appointments (external doctors appointed as VCs to WH and WH doctors appointed as VCs at external institutions). This includes liaising with external stakeholders, tracking and monitoring.
- Manage the Service and Quality Component (SQC) process for Medical staff, in coordination with HR and Clinical Heads.
- Manage Human Organ Transplant Act (HOTA) and Medical (Therapy, Education and Research) Act (MTERA), including training requirement for Designated Officers and Brain Death Certifiers, and roster scheduling.
- Administer, coordinate and track professional matters and external activities for Medical staff including management of appointments and re-appointments, in coordination with Human Resources (HR). This includes Clinical appointments (e.g. Clinical Directors, Clinical Leads, etc.).
- Manage Peer Review Learning (PRL) attendances to ensure compliance with MOH requirement.
- Work with internal stakeholders to coordinate the development or update of Clinical Services’ policies and work instructions.
- Support any workshops or events organised by Clinical Services (e.g. Doctors’ Night, Clinical Strategy Retreats)
General
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Chairman, Medical Board, Director and/or Reporting Officer, Clinical Services.
- Participate in meetings or events run by Clinical Services, including secretariat duties where required.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 1-3 years of related experience
- Experience in related areas (e.g. healthcare, clinical operations/services, medical affairs, IT) would be advantageous
- Able to multi-task and with good project management skills
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels with good interpersonal skills
- Possess a good command of the English language, both written and spoken
- Tech and data savvy, and proficient with systems thinking
- Meticulous, positive attitude and willing to learn
