Senior Executive, Inpatient Services
***** This is a full-time position offered on a 2-year employment contract, with the possibility of renewal/extension based on performance and organisational needs.
The Senior Executive, Inpatient Services is responsible for optimising inpatient ward operations through effective estate management, leading improvement and enhancement initiatives, and managing procurement activities. This role ensures efficient utilisation of ward resources whilst maintaining high standards of patient care and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Ward Estate Management
• Oversee the strategic planning and day-to-day management of ward facilities and infrastructure
• Coordinate with nursing teams and facilities management to ensure proper maintenance of ward environments, medical equipment, and support systems
• Serve as project manager for ward renovation and refurbishment projects, managing timelines, budgets, stakeholder coordination, to enhance patient flow and staff efficiency
• Prepare necessary approval and contractual documentation together with key stakeholders as part of project management
Improvement Projects
• Lead and coordinate quality improvement initiatives across inpatient services to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency
• Develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements for improvement programmes
• Collaborate with clinical teams, nursing staff, and other stakeholders to identify areas for enhancement and implement evidence-based solutions
• Monitor project progress, analyse performance metrics, and prepare regular reports on improvement outcomes
• Facilitate change management processes and ensure sustainable implementation of new practices and procedures
Procurement Management
• Manage procurement activities for inpatient services, including medical and non-medical equipment and furniture for both new purchases and replacements
• Coordinate with stakeholders to prepare tender specifications and evaluate supplier proposals, ensuring cost-effective purchasing decisions, coordinating delivery timelines, arranging user training, and seeking necessary approvals
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stakeholders to optimise resource management
General Responsibilities:
• Contribute to building a strong unit and demonstrate teamwork amongst members
• Foster continuous improvement as our way of life by encouraging staff efforts at improving processes to achieve operational excellence
• Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Head of Department
Qualifications and Key Competencies:
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in healthcare operations and project mangament
• Good understanding of healthcare delivery systems and inpatient care processes
• Experience with procurement processes and vendor management
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
• Project management and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
