Senior / Engineering Assistant, Biomedical Engineering (3 Year Contract)

Broad Function

Reports to assigned BME supervisors in the commissioning of medical equipment, managing breakdown services, planned preventive maintenance, and decommissioning of medical equipment in the hospital.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Specific

  1. Provide technical support to user departments in the commissioning, operation, maintenance and de-commissioning of medical equipment.

  2. Supervise the specialist vendors and appointed contractors on medical equipment maintenances to ensure quality of works and compliance to required standards.

  3. Update and collect feedback form user department regularly on the maintenance, performance, reliability and quality of medical equipment.

  4. Check, analyse and investigate faults / complaints / hazards on medical equipment and assist assigned BME supervisors in mapping out and implementation of required action plans.

  5. Ensure quality of works conform to standards and practices that the hospital subscribes to, including other quality initiatives driven by hospital and department

  6. Manage stock and spares for front line technical support and assist stock supervisor in documentations.

  7. Provide prompt update of works order and repair status to user departments and in Asset Management System.

 

General

  1. Assist assigned BME supervisors in coordinating services for medical equipment projects with user departments, vendors and appointed contractors.

    • Contribute to and participate in improvement activities, e.g. environmental and safety initiatives.

  2. Perform all other tasks and duties as directed by assigned BME supervisors.  

 

 

Job Requirements

 

Education / Training / Experience

  • Preferable diploma in Engineering

  • At least 2 years’ relevant experience for Engineering Assistant position

  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience for Senior Engineering Assistant position

 

Professional License (if any)

  • Nil

 

Attributes 

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Customer server oriented

  • Positive work attitude and ability to work with all levels of staff

  • Basic IT skills

  • Familiar with Microsoft office.

  • Required to be activated back on site to respond urgent request or during pandemic
