Senior / Engineering Assistant, Biomedical Engineering (2 Years Contract)
Broad Function
As part of BME cybersecurity team to prevent and manage cybersecurity risks associated with medical devices and servers. This includes monitoring system health, coordinating the implementation of patches and security enhancement, and ensuring continuous compliance with the latest cybersecurity policies. Collaborate with ITD team to establish escalation processes for cybersecurity incidents, develop contingency protocols and implement recovery procedures to safeguard patient safety and optional continuity.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Specific
- Assist in cybersecurity assessment for any medical devices intended for use in the hospital.
- Support the preparation and presentation of deviation request for policy non-compliance to seek MOH endorsement.
- Document cybersecurity risk assessment reports and assist in reviewing and updating them whenever there are changes to medical device configuration, requirement, or operational environment.
- Update the risk register records for medical devices, ensuring all IT-related risks are identified and appropriate mitigation controls are implemented.
- Coordinate with BME engineers and vendors to ensure all medical devices and servers are commissioned with the latest approved software versions, and user authentication processes are identified and established.
- Continuously collaborate with ITD team and vendors on patching, updates, and software installations for medical devices and servers.
- Monitor the operational health status and vulnerability of medical devices and servers to ensure timely detection and mitigation of cybersecurity risks.
- Actively participate in IT-related projects involving medical devices to ensure cybersecurity risk are considered and addressed.
- Work closely with end users during medical devices cybersecurity incidents to ensure mitigation controls are implemented before returning devices to clinical use.
General
- Collaborate with ITD team to support medical devices On-boarding activities and related projects
- Provide BME/IT support to ensure medical device to the latest policy guidelines and controls at any stage of device life cycle.
- Perform all other tasks and duties as directed by Head, BME
Job Requirement
Education / Training / Experience
- Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or other disciplines related to cybersecurity field.
- With at least 2 years of healthcare or cybersecurity assessment experience for a senior role.
- Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
Professional License (if any)
- Preferable certified in one or more of the following: OSCP, CREST, CEH, CISSP, AWS, CISA, or CISM
Attribute
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively to different stakeholders with diverse backgrounds.
- Vigilant and systematic in identifying cybersecurity risks and enjoys analysing and investigating such issue.
- A collaborative team player with good verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiar with cybersecurity standards, protocols and frameworks, and policy of HIM-MDOTS, HIM-ISP, etc.
- Demonstrate strong technical foundation and willingness to learn new technology and approaches
Others
- May be required to return to hospital to support cybersecurity and IT related incident management and investigation when necessary.
