Senior / Engineer (Building & Project), Facilities Management (2 Year Contract)

Broad Function

 

The engineer reports to the Manager, FM (Building & Project). The senior/engineer shall be responsible in ensuring proper and quality up keeping and maintenance of general building facilities relating to building services and infrastructure. In addition, the senior/engineer shall provide project management for all renovation and development works in the hospital and ensuring that practices are implemented in accordance with WoodlandsHealth’s policies and procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities and Duties

 

Facilities & Operations Management:

  1. Responsible for building services such as interior and external building architect elements.
  2. Assist in maintaining the operational readiness, safe and efficient operation of the Hospital.
  3. Keep track, manage and renew licensing matters pertaining to building authority requirements. 
  4. Oversee outsourced maintenance team safety practice and work conduct and ensure good maintenance standards are implemented.
  5. Review, refine and ensure all building maintenance Fix-It works are carried out according to the submitted programs and procedures, and fulfil the service level requirement.
  6. Analyse the frequent issues brought up, recurring problems with building services, find root cause to the problem and make recommendations to resolve it.
  7. Manage and supervise the performance of the Term Contractors and Managing Agents to ensure that they perform their roles accordingly and effectively.
  8. Perform any other duty/project as assigned by HOD.

 

Project Management:

  1. Provide project management support for fit-outs, renovations and upgrading works to existing and external Hospital Facilities.
  2. Participate in all Project Meeting and manage all expectations from end-users.
  3. Review all documentations prior commencement and ensure compliance with Hospital and statutory requirements.
  4. To work closely with the other trade team to ensure the smoothness and timely completion of the projects as per project scope.
  5. Assist in managing and planning the inspection and acceptance activities related to facilities.
  6. Prepare specifications and drawings for tender, evaluate tender submissions and recommend tender awards.

 

Job Requirement

 

Education / Training / Experience

  1. Degree in Building, Property Management, Facilities Management, Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent with 0-4 years of related working experience in similar portfolio for Engineer.
  2. Degree in Building, Property Management, Facilities Management, Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent with 5-6 years of related working experience in similar portfolio or (Diploma with at least 10 years) in similar portfolio for Senior Engineer.
  3. Prior working experience in healthcare setting will be an advantage.
  4. Prior experience in management of building services and project management will be an advantage.
  5. Knowledge in building maintenance and operations works in compliance with statutory requirements and regulatory and current code of practices.
  6. Conversant in reading and interpreting architectural and M&E schematic drawings;
  7. Conversant in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD. Ability to use 3D perspective drawing software such as BIM will be an added advantage;
