Senior Biostatistician

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Design of research studies in collaboration with doctors and other researchers – write up study protocols, ensuring sound methodologies.
  2. Analyse data using statistical approaches and develop and apply statistical models to address research questions
  3. Detailing of analysis plans, descriptions of analyses and findings for research protocols, research manuscripts or reports, including statistical power or sample size calculations.
  4. Create high-quality graphs, tables and figures to communicate statistical results to non-technical stakeholders.
  5. Work closely with researchers, clinicians, and study teams to understand research questions, develop study protocols and interpret results
  6. Contribute to the development of grant proposals, including statistical sections and budget planning.
  7. Monitor study progress, identify potential issues and provide recommendations for improvement
  8. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including NSC Data Sharing Policy
  9. Oversee, design and manage research databases in NSC
  10. Co-lead research projects and submit ethics approval where appropriate
  11. Provide educational talks for Doctors and Researchers and participate in institutional and cluster-level committees

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum qualification of Phd in Statistics or Biostatistics, with working experience in Biostatistics and database management, and a track record of publications.
  • Word processing and spreadsheet computer skills are essential and preferably with statistical software skills like SPSS, STATA, R or any equivalent statistical software.
  • Understanding of Python programming language will be a plus.
