Senior Biostatistician
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design of research studies in collaboration with doctors and other researchers – write up study protocols, ensuring sound methodologies.
- Analyse data using statistical approaches and develop and apply statistical models to address research questions
- Detailing of analysis plans, descriptions of analyses and findings for research protocols, research manuscripts or reports, including statistical power or sample size calculations.
- Create high-quality graphs, tables and figures to communicate statistical results to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work closely with researchers, clinicians, and study teams to understand research questions, develop study protocols and interpret results
- Contribute to the development of grant proposals, including statistical sections and budget planning.
- Monitor study progress, identify potential issues and provide recommendations for improvement
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including NSC Data Sharing Policy
- Oversee, design and manage research databases in NSC
- Co-lead research projects and submit ethics approval where appropriate
- Provide educational talks for Doctors and Researchers and participate in institutional and cluster-level committees
Qualifications:
- Minimum qualification of Phd in Statistics or Biostatistics, with working experience in Biostatistics and database management, and a track record of publications.
- Word processing and spreadsheet computer skills are essential and preferably with statistical software skills like SPSS, STATA, R or any equivalent statistical software.
- Understanding of Python programming language will be a plus.
