Resident Physician, NHG Preventive Health Centre, Population Health Campus
As a Resident Physician (Preventive Health and Endoscopy) of NHG Preventive Health Centre, you are required to work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver resident/ patient care duties. The scope of preventive health services that you are involved in shall include, but not limited to, consultations, physical examination, investigations (including colonoscopy and gastroscopy), health promotion and health education to patients/residents in alignment with national strategies such as Healthier SG, Age Well SG and GrowWell SG.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide preventive care services, including screenings, physical exams, and health counseling.
- Participate in colonoscopy and gastroscopy training and perform procedures under supervision until fully accredited.
- Ensure timely follow up and referral (if indicated) of residents’ results and conditions.
- Educate residents about the importance of preventive health measures.
- Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
- Support Clinical Director of Preventive Health Centre to provide medical guidance for business development of Preventive Health Centre (Hub-and-Spoke).
- Participate in outreach, health promotion programs and departmental activities such as quality assurance and clinical process improvement.
- To lead and undertake any other specific projects/tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience
- MBBS or post graduate qualification recognised by Singapore Medical Council.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) trained.
- At least 3 years’ experience in clinical practice.
- Experience with patient care in outpatient and in patient settings.
- Experience in preventive health or endoscopy services is preferred but not required.
- Proficient with NGEMR is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Willingness and commitment to undergo specialized training in endoscopy (colonoscopy and gastroscopy), basic sedation and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) to complete an accredited endoscopy training program.
- Strong interest in preventive health and screening procedures.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
