JOB SUMMARY

 

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join our dynamic team working on multidrug-resistant organisms (MDROs), emerging infectious diseases, transmission dynamics, and other hospital infection prevention and control (IPC) topics.

You will play a key role in coordinating and implementing research projects, preparing study protocols, supporting grant applications, ensuring data quality, conducting basic data analyses, and contributing to manuscript development for peer-reviewed publications. You will also support general administrative tasks related to research grants and team operations.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Research and Scientific Contribution

1.        Collaborate with clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, and fellow researchers to formulate and answer clinically relevant and public health–oriented research questions related to infectious diseases.

2.        Assist in manuscript development through literature reviews, preliminary data analysis, and drafting for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

3.        Support the design and implementation of new studies, including protocol development, ethics submission, and coordination of study activities.

4.        Contribute to grant applications under the guidance of principal investigators, including performing literature reviews, supporting study design, and coordinating inputs from collaborators.

5.        Liaise with both local and international collaborators to integrate clinical and scientific insights into new and ongoing research projects.

6.        Present research findings at local and international scientific meetings and conferences.

7.        Participate in administrative and coordination tasks relating to grant management and overall team activities.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

EDUCATION

 

  • Master’s degree (minimum) or PhD in Public Health, Biomedical Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related field
  • Formal training in epidemiology and biostatistics is an advantage

 

EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in research publication and/or scientific writing is desirable
