Research Co-ordinator
JOB PURPOSE
The executive will assist the allocated Infectious Diseases physician in the administrative as well as operational aspects of the Severe Illness and Death from Possibly Infectious Causes (SIDPIC) Programme as well as other clinical studies. This would include screening clinical data to identify appropriate patients, patient recruitment, data and specimen collection, co-ordination of relevant logistics as well as preparing and submission of administrative reports and documents.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES`
- Programme / study Implementation:
- Screening and recruiting participants for enrolment to the programme/study.
- Collection and collation of data and samples as required by the programme/study.
- Co-ordination of logistics relevant to the study, such as, procurement of required consumables, facilitation of follow-up visits/procedures required by the programme/study, co-ordination of sample/specimen transfers.
- Work in close liaison with both internal and external stakeholders for timely reporting of cases/subjects and facilitation of retrieval, collection, and management of samples.
- Work with Infectious Diseases Physicians and other stakeholders to conduct epidemiological investigations, if deemed necessary.
- Operational and Administrative Support
- Track and analyse data for regular workload and performance reporting of the programme/study.
- Maintenance, upkeep and archival of the necessary program/study data, documents, and reports in compliance to applicable guidelines and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation for and facilitation of any required audits or site inspections.
- Assist in the co-ordination of relevant meetings and discussions.
- Timely submission of programme/study progress reports and other documents to the relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Periodic review of work processes to facilitate improvement.
General
- Where directed by Reporting Officer to support in other Woodlands Health-related projects and tasks.
- To mentor junior team members and help to promote a working environment of collegiality and effective teamwork.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree/ Diploma in science or health related field.
- Preferably at least 2 years and 5 years of clinical / research experience in healthcare sector for Degree and Diploma holder, respectively.
- Good understanding of the research process and related legislation.
- Strong project management skills

- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Possess good organizational and interpersonal skills, with ability to work independently and as a team.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
- Familiarity with research registry systems such as REDCap
