Position: Principal Research Analyst

Job Description:

You will be a key member of an interdisciplinary research team (HOMER, which stands for Health Outcomes and Medical Education Research) that leverages psycho-social, behavioural health and learning sciences insights to address population health and education needs. You will spearhead and lead research projects by working closely with healthcare professionals, administrators, and other researchers to conceptualise and conduct rigorous research studies that can improve the healthcare sector and the health of the population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, design, and conduct research studies to address population health and education needs
  • Lead, design, and evaluate programmes/initiatives on e.g., behavioural change, health promotion, disease management and prevention
  • Pre-process, analyse, and interpret data to make recommendations to improve the healthcare sector and the health of the population
  • Secure research funding through grants and other avenues or resources
  • Communicate findings to academic and practitioner communities
  • Work together with HOMER head to build a strong reputation in behavioural health and education research for NHG internationally
  • Mentor fellow research analysts
  • Conduct research workshops/courses for healthcare professionals

Requirements:
  • A postgraduate degree in psychology, sociology, public health, epidemiology, health economics, anthropology, communications, education, human computer interaction, human factors, organizational behaviour, social work, knowledge management, statistics, data analytics, business analytics, or other related disciplines
  • Experience in conducting psycho-social and behavioural health research, particularly with a mixed methods approach
  • Proficient in questionnaire design, scale development, and the use of at least one software such as R, STATA, Python
  • Track record of leading a team
  • Strong track record of research work
  • Experience in GIS and relevant work experience in healthcare settings will be an added advantage
  • Self-directed learning with strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent writing and analytical skills
  • Able to work well independently and in an interdisciplinary team
