Pre-Registration Pharmacist

1. Dispense medications to patients

2. Review each patient's medication chart or prescription for the appropriateness of the
drugs prescribed and to contact the prescribing doctor when an intervention is
needed. The review has to ensure that:
i. All orders are clear and specific
ii. Doses are prescribed within therapeutic limits
iii. Any potential adverse reactions and interactions are identified

3. Fulfill all drug orders accurately and in a timely manner.

4. Provide drug information to other healthcare professionals.

5. Ensure that all sales and supply of medicinal products comply with Iegal
requirements:
i. Records pertaining to all phases of drug receipt, supply, storage and distribution
are maintained as required by the hospital and/or legal authorities

6. Actively participate in Pharmacy education and development programmes.
i. Provide lectures to Pharmacy staff and other hospital employees
ii. Practices continued reading of journals, publications, etc for professional
advancement.
