A Pharmacy Technician in a Compounding Lab is responsible for preparing personalized medications by mixing, measuring, and combining ingredients according to prescriptions. Key duties include:
- Compounding Medications: Accurately prepare and compound medications, including sterile and non-sterile products, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Quality Control: Ensure the quality and integrity of compounded medications by passing aseptic validation test, conduct environmental testing of cleanroom and equipment, regular disfection of workspaces and cleanrooms
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of raw materials and supplies, ensuring that all ingredients are stored properly and are within expiration dates.
- Documentation: Keep detailed records of compounding processes, including formulas used, quantities prepared, and any deviations from standard procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care and medication safety.
- Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all regulatory requirements and standards set by pharmacy boards and health authorities.
- Patient Interaction: Type, pack, pick, dispense medications to patients under the supervision of a pharmacist.
