Nurse Clinician (Invasive Cardiac Lab)
Specific Management of Care
- Assist in the development, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of established Standards of Practice in interventional cardiology nursing care that include peri, intra and post interventional procedure periods
- Assist in the planning, coordination, organization and development of process(es) to ensure success of new developments in the field of interventional Cardiology
- Maintain optimum standard in surgical asepsis and infection control principles in the Invasive Cardiac Lab (ICL).
- Perform the clinical nursing expert roles in providing patient care and assisting interventionists in all interventional cardiology procedures done in ICL
Professional, Legal and Ethical Nursing Practice
- Activate nursing staff in the units to exercise critical thinking, advocacy for the patients’ Constantly evaluates own performance based on the professional practice standards and clinical requirement/competency to identifies areas of strength and professional development
- Acts as a resource person in the care of patients for cardiac procedures
- Monitors the consistency and relevance patient education and discharge advice provided
- Ensure staff proper documentation of nursing process, and demonstrates critical thinking, advocacy for the patients, and awareness of medico-legal implications timely
Leadership and Nursing Management
- Provide guidance and support to the nursing team in carrying out the daily duties to meet the department’s goals
- Ensure staff competencies in performing nursing roles to scrub and circulate for interventional cardiology procedures
- Provide clinical guidance to nurses and nursing support staff in patient management
- Ensure continuity of services that meet ICL functions at all times. Plan and coordinate the utilization of ICL and other resources
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team and perform the role of a liaison between patients/customers and families, members of multi-disciplinary health care team
General
- Assume accountability for one’s own and delegated nursing care
- Actively contribute to (e.g. undertake special assignment) in unit/hospital initiatives on quality improvements (e.g. risk management), and on productivity improvements
- Perform any other duties/projects as assigned by supervisor
Requirements
- Registered with Singapore Nursing Board
- Minimum 2 years of experience in similar capacity
- Possess a recognised Bachelor Degree in Nursing and any relevant specialty qualification.
- Possess leadership and management skills
- Possess good interpersonal and communication skills, with positive work attitude and a strong commitment towards service excellence
- Willing to work on weekends, public holidays and placed on call roster.
