Medical Statistician

JOB PURPOSE
1. To provide biostatistical and analytical support to clinicians and researchers in Woodlands Health (WH).
2. To design, manager, teach, and review educational courses or seminars/ workshops in medical statistics to researchers, clinicians and staff of Woodlands Health.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Specific

1. Work closely with researchers in providing biostatistical support including but not limited to study design, sample size calculation, data analysis, drafting of statistical analysis plan and writing of relevant portions of methods, results and discussion sections of manuscripts or other publications and response to reviewers' comments. 
2. Apply mathematics and statistics to analyze the research data in an ethical and timely manner using state-of-the-art techniques
3. Work closely with researchers in protocol development and case report form design and development.
4. Assist in writing the statistics section of documents including but not limited to research proposals, grant applications for submission to grant agencies, scientific manuscripts for publication and assist researchers in replying to reviewers’ comments
5. Create randomization codes for investigator-initiated clinical trials in a neutral manner
6. Interpret the results from statistical analysis for researchers, clinicians and staff of WH – translating or explaining what the results/information mean and how it can be used for write-ups.
7. Process research data, including compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing or verifying information or data.
8. Deliver talks or workshops on areas of expertise or related topics or other seminars/trainings.

1. Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Manager / Head of Department.
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
1. Bachelor degree in statistics or mathematics or related fields.
Experience
1. Proficient in statistical software especially SPSS and STATA etc. Knowledge in other statistical software is an advantage.
2.Preferably with 2 to 3 years relevant experience
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
4. Capable of providing reliable, independent and competent statistical advice, complemented with technical knowledge to analyse complex data and explain the findings to non-statisticians.
5. Able to develop training materials and conduct statistical training or workshop e.g SPSS, STATA, NVIVO, RevMan, stc
6. Able to complete milestones and work towards multiple deadlines simultaneously
7. Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
