Job Title

Senior/Manager, Group Communications (Media & Social Content)

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, public relations, or media management.
  • Strong track record of handling media relations including press engagement, pitching, interview coordination, and media monitoring.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis communications and issues management.
  • Exposure to social media content creation and digital storytelling, with working knowledge of platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube).
  • Experience in healthcare, government, or large public institutions will be an advantage.

 

Requirements

  • Strong command of English as well as a second language e.g. Malay, Chinese or Tamil, both written and spoken.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messages for different audiences.
  • Good analytical and presentation skills.
  • Strong media network and ability to cultivate relationships with journalists, editors, and influencers.
  • Good understanding of both traditional and digital media landscapes.
  • Competence in planning, creating, and publishing engaging social media content.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and cross-team collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changes, and manage multiple priorities in fast-moving situations.
  • Creative, resourceful, with keen attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
  • Meticulous, self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Proficient in Adobe’s full suite of services including Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Capcut, Social Bee, Indesign as well as other editing software such as Illustrator and Final Cut.

 

Principal Responsibilities

 

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  1. Media Management

 

    • Develop and execute media engagement strategies to strengthen organisational visibility and reputation.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to plan and deliver communications campaigns that highlight corporate priorities, initiatives, and milestones.
    • Support events, campaigns, and publications with strong media and content inputs.
    • Manage day-to-day media enquiries, press statements, and interview requests, including arranging briefings, visits, and photo-taking.
    • Draft and distribute speeches, press releases, media kits, and opinion pieces.
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with media stakeholders.
    • Monitor and analyse media coverage, providing reports and insights to leadership.

 

  1. Crisis Communications and Issues Management

    • Support senior leadership in managing crisis communications and sensitive issues.
    • Develop Q&As, key messages, and spokesperson briefs.
    • Ensure consistent, accurate, and timely communications to external audiences.

 

  1. Social Content Creation and Management

  • Contribute to creation of social media content (copywriting, visual assets, short videos).
  • Ensure alignment of content with organisational branding and communications objectives.
