JOB SUMMARY
- Deliver on Lean and Design solutions that will contribute to TTSH’s and NHG’s strategies and priorities through collaboration with project stakeholders, coaching/ leading cross-functional, organisational level Kaizen events and assisting in cluster level Kaizen events.
- Lead in the design and execution of project change management plans for the translation, sustainable adoption and change integration into the organisational’s structure and culture.
- Co-lead the development, execution and evaluation of an engagement strategy to foster a culture of improvement and innovation across the organisation that would enable transformation efforts.
- Model the spirit and practice of Lean and Design by coaching and empowering members of the department and project teams in the transformative power of Lean and Design principles to drive and deliver impactful change.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Deliver Lean and Design Solutions
- To coach and/or lead strategic Kaizen events to develop and implement solutions that would deliver better value to patients and staff. This will include, but not be limited to, projects with the following objectives:
- To develop an ecosystem that supports a healthier population
- To support better patient care and patient safety
- To optimise key resources’ utilisation and ensure operational/cost effectiveness
- To develop and maintain a environmentally sustainable value delivery system
- To deepen TTSH’s service culture and improve patient satisfaction
- To benchmark, plan and future proof our services and performance to maintain organisational excellence
- To evaluate the effectiveness of Lean and Design initiatives, ensuring they contribute to intended outcomes and strategic objectives.
2.Develop Innovation and Improvement Capabilities
- To assist in the planning and execution of workplans that would strengthen the improvement & innovation culture and capabilities in the organisation that will enable healthcare transformation.
- To work closely with divisions and department heads in executing initiatives that will enable capability building of our people through avenues including (but not limited to) training and involvement in improvement and innovation projects.
- To continuously benchmark, review and refine the suite of improvement and innovation tools and training programmes with the intent of staying ahead of changing needs and maintaining relevancy. This includes the integration of new and existing methodologies for organisational change.
- To build internal capability in the underpinning principles and application of Lean and Design methodologies
- To provide subject matter expertise and guidance to members of the department to lead improvement and innovation efforts as well as to enable professional development.
3.Facilitate Change Management
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders as well as partners to guide the implementation of change management plans that will support the transformation efforts of NHG and TTSH. This will include, but not limited to:
- Fostering an environment of open communication, transparency, leadership development and effective teamwork.
- Coaching project teams to develop robust and coherent change management plans that will enable success of the improvement and innovation projects
4. Deepen Relationships with Stakeholders
- Connect and network with key stakeholders regularly to understand the needs of all levels of staff, identify opportunities for improvement and plan for targeted and relevant interventions.
- Establish effective working relationship with internal and external stakeholders and partners built on strong engagement and collaboration that will accelerate organisational change and transformation.
