Job Summary

 

Leads and manages the operational and strategic aspects of Infection Prevention, Control & Outreach Office of NCID (ICON), driving research initiatives and maintaining regulatory compliance.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

Strategic Management

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the department aligned with organisational goals
  • Lead the development and review of departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators for the department
  • Prepare and submit regular reports to Communicable Disease Agency (CDA) on surveillance data and programme outcomes
  • Manage departmental budget and resource allocation effectively

 

Programme & Research Leadership

  • Write and manage research grant proposals for IPC initiatives
  • Support the development and publication of research papers and clinical guidelines
  • Lead quality improvement projects and innovative initiatives
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders for multi-centre projects and research
  • Develop frameworks for measuring programme effectiveness and outcomes

 

Team Management

  • Coordinate the activities of Infection Control Nurses and Healthcare Associated Infections Surveillance Coordinators
  • Facilitate professional development and training opportunities for team members
  • Conduct regular team meetings

 

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the implementation of surveillance programmes and infection prevention initiatives
  • Coordinate outbreak management responses across teams
  • Manage stakeholder relationships with internal departments and external partners

 

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in grant writing and project management

 

Technical Skills and Competencies

  • Strong project management and budget management skills
  • Excellent knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and healthcare software
  • Experience with quality improvement methodologies
  • Basic knowledge in statistical analysis and research methodology
