Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic individual with a strong interest in healthcare transformation, research, and implementation to join the Clinical Research & Innovation Office (CRIO). This position is ideal for a candidate who can bridge clinical insight with system implementation, providing operational coordination, mentorship, and strategic input to enable the adoption and scaling of research and innovation efforts across the institution. The successful candidate will contribute to the Innovation and Research Implementation Support (IRIS) unit, facilitating the operationalization of research and innovation projects within clinical care settings. In addition, the role will oversee and guide a group of research fellows to enhance translational research efforts across departments.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SPECIFIC (80%)

  1. Innovation and Research Implementation Support (IRIS)

 

     The role supports IRIS — a structured, process-oriented framework built on four strategic pillars: Implementation Research & Design, Funds Sourcing, Process Mapping, and Evidence 

Base. IRIS guides clinicians and innovators from idea to impact, addressing bottlenecks that commonly impede the translation of research and innovation into practice.

 

  1. Facilitate the co-development of implementation strategies using structured to support meaningful and measurable implementation plans with clinical teams.

 

  1. Assist in scoping and resource planning by matching projects to curated grant opportunities and helping teams prepare for grant readiness, including peer review coordination.

 

  1. Support process mapping by guiding teams through institutional pathways and stakeholder engagement, ensuring early clarity on approvals and integration points.

 

  1. Consolidate and track a robust evidence base to demonstrate implementation impact, including metrics, outcome indicators, and cost-effectiveness considerations.

 

  1. Contribute to the IRIS Community of Practice by helping organise knowledge exchanges and fostering a learning network among clinicians, process owners, and implementation experts.

 

  1. Research Fellow Oversight and Development

 

  1. Provide day-to-day oversight and mentorship to a group of research fellows.

 

  1. Support fellows in project planning, protocol development, and operational troubleshooting.

 

  1. Ensure alignment with research governance and institutional expectations, including IRB processes and ethics requirements.

 

  1. Guide fellows to translate their research into actionable insights that feed into broader institutional priorities for Academic Health Excellence.

 

  1. Project Lead for CHI Evaluation Framework CHIEF (Innovation)

 

  1. Engage with external stakeholders such as grantor and study project team in guiding on the evaluation of the innovation solutions

 

  1. Using CHIEF framework to perform evidence synthesizing, collation of evaluations from review panels and writing of CHIEF report for stakeholders

GENERAL (20%)

  1. Support CRIO-led institutional initiatives such as research education, innovation showcases, and planning of academic events.

 

  1. Participate in relevant hospital committees or working groups to champion implementation enablers and research integration.

 

  1. Assist in documenting and communicating success stories or learning points from IRIS and research implementation efforts.

 

  1. Undertake other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Head of department to support CRIO’s strategic priorities and overall research ecosystem development.

 

 

Job Requirements: 

 

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with an interest in clinical research, implementation science, or healthcare innovation, or,
  • Candidates with a Master’s degree in Public Health, Clinical Research, Health Services Research, Health Policy, or a relevant healthcare-related field will also be considered, provided they bring applied experience in research implementation or healthcare innovation
  • Experience in clinical research, healthcare project implementation, or innovation enablement.
  • Exposure to hospital operations, stakeholder coordination, or quality improvement work is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes, ethics governance, or research protocol development is desirable.
  • Strong coordination and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple moving parts in complex environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
  • Comfort navigating operational systems in healthcare and aligning diverse stakeholders toward shared project goals.
  • A collaborative, proactive mindset with a passion for evidence-based practice and academic development.
  • Highly organized to ensure all duties run smoothly on a daily and long-term basis.
  • At least 5 - 6 years of relevant experience in clinical research, healthcare operations, implementation science, or health programme management, ideally within a hospital, academic health centre, or healthcare innovation environment.
