Helpline Paracounsellor

The Helpline Para-Counsellor requires attending to calls and providing support and psychoeducation to the public on Gambling, Substance and Behavioural addiction.

 

Para-Counsellors should be able to triage, assess and provide resources according to client’s needs. The goal is to ensure that the callers are given the right direction pertaining to their concerns.

 

Responsibilities

  • Handle queries via phone and webchat
  • To be able to educate callers on the service provided
  • Providing brief-intervention for their concerns
  • Managing distress calls
  • Motivating and Supporting clients towards change
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Part-take in projects
  • Identify callers at risk and provide appropriate intervention
  • Accessing client’s concern before referring them to the relevant resources
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work shifts

 

Operating Hours

Mondays – Sundays including PH

AM Shifts: 8am – 5pm

PM Shifts: 2pm – 11pm

 

Requirements

  • Diploma in related field
  • Candidates without working experience or diploma holders/candidates are welcome to apply
  • Motivated to help the public and passionate about helping people
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work shifts
