Job Description:

You will provide forensic psychological services for both inpatients and/or outpatients within the psychiatric services as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of mental health professionals. You will work closely with legal professionals, psychiatrists, and other specialists to evaluate individuals involved in the criminal justice system.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct forensic psychological assessments including intellectual, neuropsychological, and personality assessments, and provide evaluations for legal proceedings
  2. Provide expert testimony in court when required
  3. Conduct risk assessments for violence, recidivism, and public safety concerns
  4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care for forensic patients
  5. Provide individual and group psychotherapy
  6. Contribute to mental health promotion programmes and psychological duties within the institute's framework
  7. Provide training and consultations in forensic psychology
  8. Participate in or conduct research in forensic psychology and related fields

 

Requirements:

Competency

  1. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team
  2. Strong analytical and report writing skills with attention to detail
  3. Ability to maintain professional objectivity under pressure

 

Educational and Professional Requirements

  1. Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from an established university
  2. Preferably at least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in forensic settings
  3. Accreditation, registration or licence for practice with an established or recognised psychological professional body will be an advantage
