Executive, Translational Research Office, Academic Partnership Office, NHG Group Research & Innovation

 

The Translational Research Office (TRO) facilitates and drives translational research efforts at NHG institutions, through collaborations and partnerships with relevant collaborators/partners. Core functions at TRO include facilitating and supporting strategic research programmes, grant management, contract management and intellectual property (IP) management. TRO also supports the academic health system efforts between NHG and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU. RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will help to support TRO functions, with a focus on the management of NHG’s IP portfolio in accordance with the NHG IP Policy. The responsibilities include:

 

  1. Track and manage IP disclosures received from NHG institutions/business units;
  2. Process and support IP applications and related processes, including tracking of key timelines (e.g. patent conversion, patent renewal, etc);
  3. Facilitate and manage the funding support for the respective IP applications (e.g. NHIC I2P patent support scheme);
  4. Work with internal and external stakeholders to obtain updates on the IP development and licensing status;
  5. Work closely with NHG Centre for Medical Technologies and Innovations (CMTi) on the commercialisation;
  6. Engage with NHG institutions to promote IP awareness;
  7. Provide relevant reports and updates;
  8. Support any other ad hoc functions as assigned from time to time.

 

This position is expected to work with other units/offices under Group Research & Innovation in performing the above responsibilities, as well as to interact with various internal and external stakeholders (such as NHG clinicians, external collaborators, Finance, partner institutions, etc).

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

(a)  Education/Training/Experience

 

  • At least a good Bachelor’s Degree in health/life sciences or engineering (or related disciplines). Candidates with no technical background but possess relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Good working knowledge on intellectual property (IP). Prior experience in IP management, grant management and/or project management would be an added advantage.
  • Proficient in Ms Excel.
