Job Scope

The IT Operations executive will assist the Informatics Manager in the planning, coordination, and management of IT related projects in NHG Pharmacy. This will include ongoing maintenance, problem resolution of pharmacy computer and automation systems and other systems that have direct/indirect linkage with pharmacy systems.

His / Her role includes liaising with other departments within NHG Pharmacy, Synapxe, NHG Polyclinics and other NHG institutions to ensure harmonization of IT projects and efficient, patient-centred business processes.

 

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

 

1. Project Management

  • Assist in the planning, testing, implementation and documentation of IT related projects in NHG Pharmacy to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Assist in the liaison between users, CIO office, Synapxe and vendors to ensure that requirements are in tandem with organization’s goals and objectives.

2.  End-user Support

  • Provide end-user support: evaluate user problems, troubleshoot, prioritize needs for vendors to resolve.
  • Actively participate in process improvement initiatives through utilization of information systems.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring for Pharmacy IT champions who are key in successful delivery of pharmacy computer and automation services.
  • Prepare learning resources and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure competency in use of pharmacy systems.

3.  Health Information Management

  • Maintain and ensure accurate database in IT systems to support pharmacy operations.
  • Generate scheduled data reports and ad-hoc data requests from management, branches and external parties.
  • Provide key metrics on a regular basis for the branches to manage and monitor performance.
  • Assist in the delivery of information and knowledge to the organization.

4. General

  • Actively participate in process improvement activities by maximising the utilization of information systems and knowledge expertise.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals for systems and equipment and make cost-effective recommendations for purchase.
  • Assist in the IT-related component of the pharmacy budgeting process.
  • Ensure confidentiality by overseeing and reviewing system security and user access matrix.
  • Perform any other duties that may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor and supervisor’s RO.

 

Job Requirements

  • A recognised degree with keen interest in IT and automation
  • IT-related or project management work experience will be preferred
  • EUC deskside support experience will be advantageous
  • Proficient in advanced Excel features (e.g. macros, pivot tables, power query)
  • Proficient in data extraction and mining capabilities (e.g. SQL)
  • Exposure to analytics/visualisation tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
