STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

Responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organisation's emergency preparedness and business continuity plans. This role involves assessing potential risks, preparing for various emergency scenarios, and ensuring the organisation can continue its critical operations during and after a crisis. The manager will work closely with all departments to develop resilient strategies and training programs, aiming to safeguard employees, assets, and the organisation's mission.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(A)    SPECIFIC (80%)
1.    Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency preparedness and business continuity plans. Regularly review and update plans to reflect changing risks, business operations, and regulatory requirements.
2.    Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential impact on business operations. Prioritise risks and develop mitigation strategies.
3.    Design and conduct regular training sessions and drills for staff at all levels to ensure they are prepared for emergency situations. Evaluate the effectiveness of these exercises and make necessary adjustments to the plans.
4.    Support in the establishment and operation of the Hospital Command Centre during incidents, ensuring efficient resource management, response coordination and recovery efforts.
5.    Prepare and maintain documentation, reports and metrics related to emergency preparedness and business continuity, including incident reports, after action reviews and compliance documentation.
6.    Manage the budget for emergency preparedness and business continuity, including procurement of necessary supplies, equipment, and services.
7.    Support in the inventory management of EP logistics such as medical equipment and its consumables, including periodic stock-taking and restocking efforts.
(B)    GENERAL (20%)
1.    Be a leader in embracing change. 
2.    Provide support for hospital operational functions, which may include audits, emergency response and events coordination.
3.    Foster continuous improvement as our way of life by encouraging staff efforts at improving processes to achieve operational excellence.
