Dietitian
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Dietetics
Educate clients with evidence-based nutritional principles and applied dietetics
Maintain and/or improve the nutritional status of in-patients
Assist to evaluate hospital food supply and to suggest healthier food Options
Communicate effectively patient's nutritional care information for seamless service during hospitalization and after discharge
Administration
Assist in the design of clinical pathways and procedures for monitoring nutritional issues
Plan and organize resources to achieve effective nutritional care policy in allocated wards and dietetics specialties
Assist in monitoring the performance of dietetic interns and polytechnic student attachments
Assist in the enhancement of established protocols and standards to achieve departmental goals
Participate in quality service-related activities (system procedures) pertaining to hospital and department - ISO 9002, ISO I 4000, Six-Sigma Processes, People Developer Standards, Balanced Score Card,
Joint Commission International Accreditation, Competency Certification with recognized dietetic organisations
Foodservice
Liaise with Foodservice colleagues on therapeutic diet requirements and meal delivery
Assist in the evaluation of new dietetic products for clinical use and foodservice use
Financial Management
Maintain records of patient-related statistics for patient charging system
Contain cost I expenditure within department al budget
Personal Management
Observe the YH's Basics and values
Observe patient confidentiality appropriateIy
Support actively the local dietetics professional body (Singapore Nutrition & Dietetic Association)
Support actively at least one non-profitable organization as a volunteer dietitian
Communicate effectively (focused, flexible, dynamic, sensitive) with hospital colleagues and non-KTPH dietitians/ nutritionist
Uphold dietetic professionalism by maintaining optimum physical health
Embrace continuous improvements as our way of life by improving and refining work performance on a daily basis
Education & Research
Interpret, evaluate and utilize current research related to nutritional care in dietetic specialties
Contribute and review regularly nutrition-related and health promoting materials available for internal and public access
In-house and external education materials
Layman publications
Newspapers
Intranet and internet
Participate in nutrition-worthy projects within department or with other healthcare teams where appropriate
Miscellaneous
Participate in training programmes as may be required
Participate in non-dietetic activities supported by the hospital as may be
Required - commemorative functions, gardening, staff health screening, book review
Support good working relationship and team spirit with colleagues
Cover the duties of department colleagues as may be required
Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Head of Department
EDUCATION TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Degree holder of nutrition and dietetics from PSG recognized university.
Dietetic internship must be a minimum of six months and able to qualify for practicing license or dietitian registration with the national dietitian association of the country.
Competent in Ms Office and Social Media.
Ability to work efficiently and independently.
Preferable with minimum two years relevant working experience.
PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
Accredited Dietitian of Singapore with Singapore Nutrition & Dietetics Association.
