Clinical Research Co-ordinator
The clinical research coordinator will be part of SCRN (Singapore Infectious Disease Clinical Research Network) team in NCID, to coordinate clinical studies related to infectious diseases. He/She will support the principal investigator and project manager/research fellow to ensure proper conduct and implementation of all research activities according to protocol requirements, IRB and MOH biosafety guidelines.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC
- Ensure that all study practices and procedures (e.g., screening, recruitment, quarantine, follow-up, specimen taking, data entry) are conducted in accordance with the study protocol, Good Clinical Practice, MOH Biosafety, other applicable regulatory / ethical requirements, standard operating procedures, and hospital policies.
- Ensure timely submission of required documents to the Institutional Review Board.
- Ensure accurate and complete source documentation, subject logs, subject transport reimbursement logs, and all other pertinent research documents and ensure that they are audit compliant.
- Liaise with relevant internal and external agencies to ensure successful implementation of clinical studies.
- Prepare for site visits, audits, etc. by ensuring that all study files are complete and up to date.
- Venipuncture, swab collection, handling and processing of biological specimens, ECG recording and vital signs.
- Ensure safety of research participants and report any adverse events to principal investigator, project manager and Data Safety Monitoring Board.
- Open to work on weekend and/or night shift.

- Participate in other duties as directed by principal investigator and project manager/research fellow, including work areas not mentioned here.

The Singapore Infectious Disease Research Network (SCRN) supports multicentre collaborative Infectious Diseases (ID) clinical research as well as outbreak research. It is part of the National ID Research Coordinating Office, which encourages collaborative ID research between healthcare institutions in Singapore and beyond.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- Degree in Nursing, Biomedical Sciences or related discipline; preferably degree with at least 1-3 years’ relevant experience
- Nursing registration with Singapore Nursing Board an advantage
EXPERIENCE
- Ability to perform phlebotomy preferred
- Able to work on weekend and night shift preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office applications
- Hands on experience with inpatient and/or clinic work processes preferred
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to speak local languages (e.g. Malay, Mandarin, Chinese dialects) is preferred
- Strong initiative and drive in a fast-paced setting
