Job Description:

To support the planning, coordination and delivery of nutrition and dietetic services for the hospital (inpatient, outpatient and catering for hospital functions). This role includes assisting in operational management, food service liaison, quality improvement, staff supervision, budget oversight and strategic initiatives for the department.

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Management

  1. Formulate, implement, and review departmental policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency
  2. Develop and implement department work plans and budgets consistent with hospital directions and priorities
  3. Monitor, review and report performance indicators against targets and implement corrective actions
  4. Develop and implement manpower plans, training and development programmes, career development plans and performance management systems
  5. Review, schedule and deploy staff and contractors to ensure effective performance and optimal productivity
  6. Supervise and monitor work of department personnel and contractors to ensure compliance with hospital and departmental policies

 

Operations & Quality Assurance

  1. Implement quality control and audits in work processes to ensure compliance to defined standards
  2. Explore and implement service programmes and improvement plans for staff safety and security, including kitchen maintenance and hygiene compliance
  3. Responsible for menu planning and costing of diets, ensuring optimal utilisation of resources

Educational and Professional Requirements

 

  1. General Degree or Equivalent in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  2. At least 3 years of working experience in food service operations, ideally in healthcare or institutional settings or minimum 5 years in the capacity of a Food and Beverage Manager
  3. Understanding of food safety regulations, kitchen workflow optimisation, experience in healthcare management, administrative and operational functions
