Asst Director
Broad Function
The Assistant Director, Office of Clinical Informatics (OCI) plays a pivotal role in shaping and driving Woodlands Health’s digital transformation strategy, leading an informatics team and collaborating with clinical, nursing, pharmacy, and IT stakeholders to deliver clinical informatics, innovation and analytics that improve patient care, hospital operations and overall system capabilities.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Specific
- Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the OCI team across demand & project management, downtime & business continuity, user & access governance and data & analytics for electronic medical record (EMR) and other clinical systems.
- Develop and execute the hospital’s clinical informatics workplans, ensuring alignment with Woodlands Health and NHG strategies.
- Programme & Project Delivery
- Oversee the planning, prioritisation, and execution of EMR and other clinical systems implementation, upgrades and optimisation.
- Establish and continuously improve frameworks and operational processes for demand management, resource allocation, and governance to support hospital and cluster initiatives.
- Drive adoption and effective use of digital tools through structured training, change management and stakeholder engagement.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure robust downtime procedures, business continuity tools and user access governance frameworks are in place.
- Establish and continuously improve EMR data extraction & reporting frameworks for clinical and operational decision making.
- Monitor and optimise OCI processes and workforce capabilities.
- Talent Development & Team Building
- Develop and mentor informatics team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and professional growth.
- Build career pathways for informatics staff, supporting hospital and cluster-wide capability building.
General
- Represent OCI in institutional and cluster-wide committees, providing thought leadership on clinical informatics, governance and digital innovation.
- Undertake any additional responsibilities as assigned by CMB.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s and/ or Master’s degree in information systems, life sciences, health informatics or a related field.
- Preferred 8-10 years of progressive experience in health informatics, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong track record in managing large-scale IT projects (Epic experience an advantage).
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholders across clinical, operational, and IT domains.
