Associate Psychologist/ Clinical Psychologist (Developmental Psychiatry)

Job Description:

At the Department of Developmental Psychiatry, you are expected to work in a multidisciplinary team, and work with young persons presenting with mental health concerns. The department is moving towards a scientist-practitioner ethos, and your work will interface the clinical and research components of mental health.

 

Job Responsibilities:

You will be expected:

  • To have knowledge and theoretical background in working with young persons presenting with mental health issues
  • To conduct research procedures and develop research projects that aim to improve the mental health of young persons, including clinical programs and trials
  • To learn to conduct psychological assessments, including the interpretation and formulation of intervention plans, and write reports for clinical application
  • To be involved in developing and conducting clinical or preventative mental health programs
  • To participate in other activities that is necessary for supporting young persons’ mental health, including but not limited to implementation of intervention strategies, monitoring of outcomes, providing support to parents/caregivers or other executive duties.

 

In addition, for the clinical psychologist role, you will be expected:

  • To supervise junior psychologists in the team
  • To conduct mental health assessment and triaging of cases independently
  • Conduct training workshops

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Psychology (Upper Honours) in Psychology (Associate Psychologist role) or at least Master of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (Clinical Psychologist role) from an established university.
  • Preferably with relevant working experience.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents or young persons is desirable.
  • Good interpersonal, social and communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.

 

Remuneration will commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant work experience.
