Job Purpose

NHG Health aims to be a trusted Public Healthcare cluster enabling healthier lives through excellent, person-centred and accessible care. As part of NHG Health’s Clinical Transformation Department, the Assistant / Deputy Director plays a key role in shaping how care is delivered to 1.6 million residents in Singapore’s Central North regions.

 

The role supports NHG’s goals of improving Care Access and building Clinical Excellence by redesigning care models, strengthening clinical services capabilities, and developing NHG Institutes, Centres and Cluster-level services.

 

We are looking for a resourceful, forward-thinking leader with a can-do spirit and an innovative mind, who enjoys solving complex healthcare challenges and working closely with clinicians, administrators, and partners to strengthen the healthcare system spanning across domains and settings.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Clinical Transformation & Planning

  • Lead cluster-wide initiatives to improve access, care coordination, and clinical quality.
  • Identify opportunities to grow NHG Institutes, Centres and cluster-level services.
  • Review current care models and recommend improvements for efficiency, outcomes, and sustainability.
  • Co-develop new care models across preventive, primary, acute, community, and palliative care.

2. Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with MOH, public healthcare clusters, government agencies, and external partners.
  • Collaborate with clinicians and operations teams to align and execute strategic projects.
  • Build strong relationships that support co-design and innovation.

3. Innovation & Implementation

  • Drive innovation, digital transformation, and adoption of new care models.
  • Support change management, programme governance, and benefits tracking.
  • Develop frameworks and structure to evaluate and scale successful transformation efforts.

4. Policy & Strategic Advisory

  • Provide insights on policy, population health trends, workforce issues, and funding models.
  • Develop strategic papers, proposals, and presentations for senior leadership and national workgroups.
  • Analyse local and global trends to support long-term planning and development.

5. Culture and People Capability Development

  • Lead with NHG Health Cultural-Beliefs to create positive team dynamics.
  • Identify capability needs and develop tools, learning and growth opportunities to build care redesign and transformation capabilities across NHG Health.

 

Requirements

  • Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, Public Health or related fields; postgraduate qualifications preferred for Deputy Director.
  • 8–12 years of experience in healthcare strategic planning, service development / transformation, or clinical operations.
  • Proven track record of working with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong communication and project leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving healthcare landscape.
  • Passion for improving care delivery for healthier lives and better experiences.

 

Depending on qualifications and experience, successful candidates may be appointed at the Assistant Director or Deputy Director job grade.
