Assistant Manager, External and Internal Communications, NCID

JOB SUMMARY
 

The appointee will be part of the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) Corporate Communications team responsible for developing and executing the communications initiatives to promote NCID as a strong and trusted national centre to protect the people of Singapore from infectious diseases. The team will collaborate with multiple partners (Tan Tock Seng Hospital, National Healthcare Group, Ministry of Health (MOH), regional and international) to ensure coordinated public health messaging.    

 

The NCID Corporate Communications team manages media relations, marketing communications, issues and outbreak communications, internal communications, corporate branding, public relations, website, social media, and events management/advisory. The NCID Corporate Communications team also supports the corporate communication needs of the Communicable Diseases Agency Planning Office (CDA PO).

 

The appointee in this role will support the Supervisor in the areas listed above.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This role requires the appointee to strongly support the Supervisor in the following:

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of effective corporate communication strategies to generate positive awareness and top of mind recall for NCID
  • Manage media queries and media publicity for announcements, events, research studies and new programmes/initiatives
  • Develop corporate and marketing collaterals and marketing campaigns, and contribute to the corporate website and social media content for public and healthcare professionals
  • Manage internal communications (messages, speeches, presentations, etc.) and assist in communication of strategies or messages from senior leadership, change communications, and crisis communications
  • Perform incident and crisis communications in the management of issues, outbreaks and adverse publicity
  • Work closely with MOH and Public Healthcare Institutions to ensure a coherent and consistent communications approach to managing public health
  • Manage the media publicity and marcomms, and support the branding and social media needs for CDA PO
  • Any other duties as assigned by Management and Supervisor.

 

   Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Mass Communications, Journalism or the Arts & Social Sciences
  • Has more than 5 years of experience with the government sector, healthcare institution, medium to large-size organization.
  • Prior work experience in corporate/public communications, media engagement, and marketing communications
  • Excellent command of English, preferrable fluency in 2nd language.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and/or with a team, and to manage multiple projects and deadlines
