Assistant Director, Communications (2-year contract)

As Assistant Director (Communications), you will be part of the Corporate Communications team of the Communicable Diseases Agency Planning Office (CDA PO). You will work on the communications strategy to support the establishment of the Communicable Diseases Agency.

 

The CDA is a new government agency that is being established by the Ministry of Health (MOH) to oversee Singapore’s communicable disease preparedness, prevention and control, surveillance, risk assessment and outbreak response. The CDA PO’s role is to plan and execute the setup of the CDA, which will consolidate and build on the public health functions under MOH, the National Centre for Infectious Diseases, and the Health Promotion Board.

 

You will manage a team in the development of external communication strategies and plans and the development of the branding and set up of the corporate website and social media channels for the organisation to ensure that unified, consistent, positive messages and content define and promote the corporate identity and mission. 

 

You will assist the Director in the following roles:

  • Manage and oversee the implementation of effective corporate communication strategies to generate positive awareness and top of mind recall for CDA
  • Oversee the set-up of CDA’s corporate communications structure including website, branding and media processes.
  • Oversee media queries and media publicity for announcements, events, and programmes/initiatives
  • Manage crisis communications in the management of issues and outbreaks
  • Manage the development corporate and marketing collaterals and marketing campaigns, and contribute to social media content for public and professionals

 

You will be working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that will require you to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities concurrently for a smooth set-up of the CDA.

 

Job Requirements: 

  • More than 5 years of experience with the government sector, public healthcare, or a medium to large-size organisation; with relevant team leader experience 
  • Prior work experience in corporate/public communications and media engagement, and have managed a team
  • A strong team leader and player
  • Excellent command of English, preferrable fluency in 2nd language. 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Able to adapt to a fast-turn around time for projects with tight timeframes
