Position: Assistant Director (Senior Data Architect), Data Analytics
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Data Architect provides strategic leadership in designing and governing the enterprise data architecture that supports the hospital's data-driven decision-making processes. This role focuses on data strategy, modelling, integration patterns, and data governance while working closely with the Group Chief Data Officer and Data Platform Engineering Lead to ensure seamless implementation of data solutions.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Data Strategy & Architecture
• Define and maintain enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap
• Design scalable architecture for the Databricks Lakehouse environment
• Establish data modelling standards and governance frameworks
• Create reference architectures for data ingestion, processing, and consumption
• Guide data integration patterns across healthcare systems
2. Data Governance & Quality
• Develop enterprise-wide data governance framework
• Establish data quality standards and monitoring approaches
• Define metadata management strategies
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations
• Design data lineage and cataloguing solutions
3. Technical Leadership
• Guide implementation of data pipelines using Informatica IDMC and Spark
• Define data modelling and standardization approaches
• Establish performance benchmarks for data solutions
• Review and approve data architecture decisions
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering Lead on infrastructure needs
4. Team Leadership
• Provide technical guidance and architecture reviews
• Collaborate with analytics and clinical teams
• Drive knowledge sharing and documentation
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 10+ years of data architecture experience
• Expertise in:
- Data modelling and design
- Data governance frameworks
• Experience leading data engineering teams
NICE TO HAVE
• Expertise in:
- Databricks
- Informatica IDMC
- Healthcare Data Architecture
- Healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR)
- Strong understanding of healthcare compliance (HIM-ISP)
